My Favorite Detailing Products Part 1

Updated: Oct 2, 2022

Detailing a car can be one of the most satisfying things to do. Nothing is better than taking car of your car, your investment, your means of transportation. You work hard to pay for your car so it should look like it, shouldn’t it? From the interior to the seats to the exterior and the rims there are chemicals that aide in the cleaning and maintaining of your vehicle. With over 10 years of experience I have tried many many products and received just as many results. I have my favorites and now I want to share them with you. This doesn’t mean that chemicals not named here are not good, these are just my choices when it comes to giving my customers vehicles a Touch of detail. Here too you will see that some chemicals have multiple uses saving you time and money.

First I like to clean and protect my interior. This starts with P&S Xpress Interior. It has a great smell, lots of foaming action to show just how much cleaning power you’re getting when you activate it with those detailing brushes, and it’s very well priced. Now after cleaning you have to protect those fresh surfaces. That’s where another P&S favorite comes in. P&S Shine All. This product leaves a nicely dressed appeal without the greasy residual mess. This can also be used on tires. Best applies with a an applicant pad and as microfiber towel used to buff off the excess. If you like more shine you can apply multiple coats to get your desired results.

Second, let’s talk about cleaning the body of the car. If a car comes to me with a lot of dirt and grime, I like to do a pre soak. I use Carpro lift pre treatment. I mix in a pump sprayer ,and spray on a wet vehicle. I let sit for 5-10 minutes , depending on the condition of the vehicle. After a thorough rinse I get to use one of my favorite car shampoos. Koch Chemie Nanomagic Shampoo. For a little extra cleaning power you can add Koch Chemie green star, a universal cleaner. The results are amazing. The cleaning power, the shine and you have a shampoo that is PH neutral so your ceramic coatings and waxes are safe. If you are concerned with the harshness of your shampoo Koch Chemie does offer an alternative shampoo called “Gentle Snow Foam.”

These are just a few items to start that I use. Over the course of several articles I will be introducing the total line of products that I use in a professional setting to get results that satisfy customers everyday. We still have things like tire shines, wheel cleaners, cutting compounds, waxes, ceramic coatings, Graphene infused products and even all purpose cleaners. For every job there’s a chemical that makes that job more simple.

Always remember that with these chemicals comes the ability to harm a vehicle as well, so make sure you read the instructions and apply accordingly. Every car is different, from the materials to the paint to the condition, we as detailers must pay special attention. You probably have already seen that I don’t stick to one brand. I use whatever gets me the desired results. You will see brands such as Koch Chemie, Chemical Guys, Adams, CarPro etc. Stay tuned for my next blog where I will introduce three more chemicals in my line up. As always, happy reading and always pay attention to the details.
